Discovering Domaine Le Cazal at the French Market in Kaohsiung

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of presenting several wines from Domaine Le Cazal during the French Market in Kaohsiung.

For Yueh’s Choice, this event was much more than simply showcasing French products. It was an opportunity to share the story of a family winery from Southern France and introduce visitors to the rich terroirs of the Minervois appellation.

This is exactly the kind of story we want to highlight through our selection of organic French wines from independent family wineries.

Meeting Wine Lovers, Friends, and Industry Professionals

Throughout the market, many visitors stopped by our stand to discover and discuss French wines.

Some were friends supporting our project, others were visitors attending the market out of curiosity, while several guests had extensive experience in the world of wine and gastronomy.

Among them were:

  • The owner of a wine estate in Burgundy
  • A chef teaching at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu culinary school
  • Wine enthusiasts and food lovers from Kaohsiung

These conversations created a welcoming atmosphere and allowed us to gather valuable feedback from people with different backgrounds and tasting experiences.

Two Wines That Stood Out

While all the wines generated interest, two cuvées from Domaine Le Cazal clearly attracted the most attention:

Le Pas de Zarat

Le Pas de Zarat impressed visitors with its balance between fruit intensity and elegance.

Its aromas of black cherry, cassis, moka, and subtle roasted notes were particularly appreciated, making it a favorite among many tasters.

Alvéoline

Made from 100% old-vine Carignan, Alvéoline surprised many people.

Several visitors commented on its smooth texture, concentration, and rich flavors of blackcurrant and prune. For many, it was a wonderful introduction to the potential of old-vine Carignan from Minervois.

A Positive Reception for Authentic French Wines

One of the most encouraging aspects of the event was seeing how interested visitors were in learning more about independent French wineries.

The response confirmed that there is growing curiosity in Taiwan for wines that offer:

  • A genuine sense of place
  • Traditional know-how
  • Sustainable farming practices
  • Family stories behind every bottle

Domaine Le Cazal perfectly embodies these values through six generations of winemaking and its commitment to organic viticulture. Bringing Domaine Le Cazal to Taiwan

This tasting marked an important step in our collaboration with Domaine Le Cazal and in our wider project of introducing independent French family wineries to Taiwan.

Alongside producers such as Domaine In Ventis, Le Cazal is part of a wine selection built around organic viticulture, family heritage, distinctive terroirs, and direct relationships with the people behind the wines.

Our goal is not to build the largest catalogue, but to introduce producers whose wines and stories genuinely deserve to be discovered in Taiwan.

Thank You for Your Support

We would like to thank everyone who visited us during the French Market in Kaohsiung.

Whether you stopped by for a quick tasting, shared your thoughts, or spent time discussing French wine with us, your enthusiasm and support mean a great deal.

This is only the beginning of the journey for Yueh’s Choice, and we look forward to sharing many more French discoveries with you in the months ahead.

Cheers!
🥂
