Domaine In Ventis – Organic Family Wines from Gaillac

A Family Wine Story Since 1874

Located in Rabastens, in the Tarn department of South-Western France, Domaine In Ventis is an independent family winery rooted in the historic wine region of Gaillac.

The estate extends over approximately 10 hectares in the heart of Occitanie, around 40 km from Toulouse, Montauban, and Albi.

Its family winegrowing history began in 1874 and has continued through generations. In 2016, Jean-Baptiste Favarel became an independent winemaker, opening a new chapter in the history of the estate.

Today, Domaine In Ventis produces organic wines that combine family heritage, regional identity, and a personal interpretation of the Gaillac terroir.

In Ventis – “In the Winds”

The name In Ventis means “In the Winds.”

Wind is an important part of the landscape and climate surrounding the vineyards of Rabastens. The estate lies in an area influenced by both Atlantic and Mediterranean conditions, creating a distinctive environment for the vines.

The vineyards grow on limestone and clay soils, helping produce wines with freshness, structure, aromatic expression, and a strong connection to their place of origin.

Organic farming is not simply a certification for Domaine In Ventis. It is part of a broader approach based on observing nature, respecting the vineyard, and allowing the characteristics of each grape variety and vintage to express themselves.

Gaillac: One of France’s Historic Wine Regions

Gaillac may be less internationally famous than Bordeaux or Burgundy, but it has a long and distinctive winemaking history.

Located in South-Western France around the Tarn River, the region is known for its variety of soils, climatic influences, and local grape varieties.

This diversity gives Gaillac wines a strong regional identity and makes the area particularly interesting for wine lovers looking beyond standardized international styles.

Domaine In Ventis embraces this heritage while developing wines with its own personality and interpretation of the terroir.

Organic Wine and Independent Winemaking

Domaine In Ventis represents exactly the kind of producer Yueh’s Choice wants to introduce in Taiwan.

The estate remains independent and family-owned, with the people behind the domaine directly involved in both the vineyard and winemaking.

Its philosophy brings together:

  • organic viticulture,
  • independent winemaking,
  • family winegrowing history dating back to 1874,
  • respect for the Gaillac terroir,
  • regional grape varieties,
  • and wines made with personality rather than mass-market standardization.

For Yueh’s Choice, this direct connection between producer, family, vineyard, and wine is essential.

Domaine In Ventis at Yueh’s Choice Taiwan

Our relationship with Domaine In Ventis reflects the philosophy behind our French wine selection: discovering independent producers, learning about their work, and introducing wines to Taiwan that we genuinely believe deserve to be known.

In Ventis is not part of a large wine group.

It is a family estate whose history stretches back to 1874 and whose current generation continues to cultivate and renew that heritage.

A family. A vineyard. A terroir. Wines with their own story.
