Perched at 300 meters above sea level on the Causse du Minervois in Southern France, Domaine Le Cazal is a historic family estate passed down through six generations of the Derroja family since 1850.

Today, Benoît Derroja continues this long family tradition while bringing a modern and environmentally responsible vision to the estate.

A Unique Terroir of Garrigue and Limestone

The vineyard grows on a distinctive clay-limestone terroir surrounded by wild garrigue vegetation, Mediterranean herbs, and rich biodiversity.

This environment gives Domaine Le Cazal wines their strong personality, combining freshness, aromatic intensity, and the authentic character of Minervois wines.

Old Vines with Exceptional Character

One of the estate’s greatest strengths lies in its old vineyards.

• Carignan vines over 80 years old
• Grenache Noir vines planted more than 50 years ago

These mature vines naturally produce lower yields but offer exceptional concentration, depth, and complexity in the wines.

Certified Organic Since 2023

Domaine Le Cazal officially received organic certification starting with the 2023 harvest.

The estate follows a respectful agricultural philosophy focused on preserving both nature and grape quality through extensive manual vineyard work and sustainable farming practices.

This careful approach allows healthier vineyards while respecting the surrounding ecosystem.

Precision Work from Vineyard to Cellar

Every harvest is carefully monitored through detailed ripeness controls conducted weeks before picking.

This parcel-by-parcel selection allows the estate to determine:

• The desired wine profile
• Aromatic concentration and balance

This approach ensures consistency across vintages while preserving each wine’s identity.

All wines are produced under the AOC Minervois appellation.
