Domaine in ventis
The Domaine In Ventis spans 10 hectares in the heart of Occitanie.
Located in Rabastens (Tarn, France), within the Gaillac PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), In Ventis perpetuates, cultivates, and renews their family’s winemaking history that began in 1874.
Just 40 km from Toulouse, Montauban, and Albi, Jean-Baptiste, Mathilde, and Martin embarked on their journey as Independent Winemakers in 2016.
Today, their passion finds expression in their wines through Organic Agriculture, blending typicity and originality.
The limestone clay soil is at the crossroads of the oceanian and mediterranean climate.
The wind plays a major role in the wine culture, hence In Ventis translates to “In the Winds.”
In Ventis Wine Selection
Cuvée Braucol
Very steep plot on the first slopes of Rabastens, mostly limestone and dry soil.
Braucol is a native grape variety of the Gaillac vineyard, capable of long maceration (20-27 days with grape skins and seeds).
Our Braucol is a wine with a powerful aroma and distinctive character.
This light wine is perfect for aperitifs or leisurely meals.
Tasting:
Rustic and expressing the true nature of this grape variety thanks to its tank aging, the predominant aroma is green pepper.
Pairs well with strong cheeses or Basque chicken.
Viognier – “Roc de la Rivière”
Vin de France – Organic Agriculture
100% Viognier. Dry White
Tasting:
Apricot and peach nose, typically Viognier. Floral and highly aromatic palate, with a lively yet delicate mouthfeel.
A surprising lightness that marks a deliberate departure from local whites.
To be discovered and rediscovered endlessly, but with moderation.
The name “Roc de la Rivière” comes from the nature of the soil in the plot, located on the former bed of the Tarn river.
Le Vif du Sujet
AOC Gaillac – Undergoing conversion to Organic Agriculture.
Monovarietal Prunelart. The latest addition to the estate.
Prunelart is a lost (or rediscovered) grape variety from the AOP GAILLAC.
It returns with strength, and it is with honor that we present this additional cuvée in our range of monovarietals.
Sensitive souls, abstain. Le Vif du Sujet is robust. Powerful tannins, a natural length in the mouth, a fruity aroma marked by plum in alcohol and candied fruits.
Tasting: It is best enjoyed with strong cheeses or sweet/savory dishes as well as exotic dishes, such as duck à l’orange, duck breast with pomegranate sauce, or lamb and pear tagine.
Syrah
Vin de France – Certified Organic Agriculture
Single-varietal 100% Syrah Yield: 40 hL/hectare
Ample tannins. Aromatic with red fruits and spices.
It will accompany your red meats and refined dishes. Perfect for the sauce of a beef bourguignon, our Syrah will wonderfully complement it at the table.
Want to change up dessert? Try the Syrah with dark chocolate, at least 70%.
Les Choses Sérieuses
AOC Gaillac – Undergoing Conversion to Organic Agriculture
Our cuvée aged in oak barrels. It is composed of 85% Braucol and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon (2021), 100% Braucol (2022) . As its name suggests, this is serious stuff!
The woody aroma is discovered in the first seconds in the mouth and then quickly subsides to reveal a surprising fruity aroma for a wine aged in oak barrels.
